Karachi(Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2018 ) Karachi University won the HEC Zone “G” Inter-varsity Badminton Championship 2017-18 Singles and Doubles Final respectively held at the Institute of business Management (IoBM), with support of the Sindh Badminton Associations (SBA). This Championship was held at IoBM’s Creek College Badminton Courts on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27, 2018 according to IoBM Public Affairs Section. Final results: Winner 1st Semi-final: Iqra University; Winner 2nd Semi-Final: Karachi University; Winner Singles Final: Karachi University; Winner Doubles Final: Karachi University.
Mr. Talib Karim, President, IoBM and Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, IoBM distributed prizes to the winners and the participants. This tournament was organized by the IoBM Sports Society amid the guidance of Mr. Riaz Ahmed Contractor and coordination of Mr. Humanyun Rashid. Earlier talking to Mr. Parvez Jamil, IoBM the guest teams attributed this Institute for the warm-hearted hospitality and top class sports facilities at IoBM. Eleven Teams representing reputable Universities/Institutes from across Karachi participated in this Badminton Championship, which was contested on a knockout basis and progressed through round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
The round and quarter-final matches were played on Friday, January 26, 2018 while the semi-final and finals were held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:30 pm. The participating Universities/Institutes in the HEC Zone “G” Inter-varsity Badminton Championship 2017-18 were: Institute of Business Management (IoBM), NED University, Indus University, Iqra University, Aga Khan University, Greenwich University, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi University, Hamdard University, PAF-KIET and Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.
