GEORGETOWN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 27th, 2026) Lahore Qalandars have released Pakistan batter Abdullah Shafique from their squad for the Global Super League after he was called up to Pakistan’s Test team for the ongoing series against the West Indies.
Shafique, who represented Lahore Qalandars in the tournament, has been replaced by Bangladesh international Shamim Hossain for the remainder of the competition.

His release comes after he was named as a replacement for the injured Abdullah Fazal in Pakistan’s Test squad.
The Pakistan cricket board drafted Shafique into the squad to strengthen the batting lineup following Fazal’s injury, prompting Lahore Qalandars to make a change to their Global Super League roster.
Shamim Hossain is expected to join the Qalandars immediately and will be available for the team’s remaining fixtures in the tournament.
