UoG admission Fall-26 campaign focus on quality

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq presents a detailed analysis of UoG’s research output for 2025–2026

GUJRAT: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 18th, 2026) University of Gujrat Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq, recipient of the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, emphasized on Thursday that the ongoing Admission Fall-26 campaign must prioritize quality over quantity.

Chairing a meeting with senior academics — including deans, chairpersons and HoDs — at Hafiz Hayat Campus, he underscored the importance of merit-based admissions. “There is no dearth of funds for merit scholarships,” he noted, urging faculty to ensure that talented students securing 85 percent marks or above are given priority.

The vice chancellor also presented a detailed analysis of UoG’s research output for 2025–2026. He highlighted that the university recorded nearly 600 publications each in both 2024 and 2025, expressing optimism that the figure would rise to 700 in the current academic year.

During the session, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq discussed proposals from faculty heads regarding eligibility criteria for the Oslo Award for Best UoG Researcher, encouraging departments to align their efforts with international standards.
