Lahore CTO hails traffic education move in schools

Unique Group of Institutions announces a 100 per cent tuition fee waiver for the children of traffic police martyrs

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 18th, 2026) Lahore CTO Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said traffic education should be incorporated into the academic curriculum to promote awareness among students and encourage compliance with traffic laws from an early age.

Shirazi praised Unique Group’s initiative to support the families of traffic police martyrs and serving officials through educational concessions.

He made these remarks while addressing an event held at the Dr Nisar Ahmad Rana Auditorium near Muslim Town in Lahore on Thursday.

Unique Group of Institutions also announced a 100 per cent tuition fee waiver for the children of traffic police martyrs, while continuing its 50 per cent fee concession for the children of serving traffic police personnel.

The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Dr Nisar Ahmad Rana Auditorium, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the City Traffic Police Lahore and Unique Group of Institutions. The agreement was signed by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi and Unique Group Rector Professor Amjad Ali Khan.

Professor Amjad Ali Khan said observance of traffic rules plays a vital role in preventing road accidents and emphasized the importance of public cooperation with traffic police. He paid tribute to police personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, saying their services contribute significantly to the protection of the country and its institutions.

He announced that children of traffic police martyrs would receive a 100 per cent fee waiver at all campuses of Unique Group, adding that the institution would continue to support the families of those who laid down their lives in service of the nation.

A documentary on the Traffic Management System was also screened during the ceremony. The event was attended by Unique Group Vice Chairman Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Director Academics Professor Waseem Anwar Chaudhry, Director Administration Muhammad Abdullah, faculty members and a large number of students.
