QUETTA: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 22nd, 2026) An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday Mahrang Baloch and activist Sibghatullah to life imprisonment in connection with a case related to the killing of a security personnel in Gwadar.
The court held that both Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah were found guilty in the case linked to an incident in Gwadar, a port city in Balochistan, Pakistan.
The prosecution had alleged their involvement in the killing of a security official during a security-related incident, while the defence maintained their innocence throughout the trial.
The trial was conducted online, with both convicts appearing from District Jail Quetta through video-link arrangements approved by the court. The local authorities stated that security measures were heightened during the proceedings due to the sensitive nature of the case.
The Anti-Terrorism Court announced the life imprisonment sentence after completing the hearing of evidence and arguments from both sides.
