NEW DEHLI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 28th, 2026) A crash landing involving a chartered aircraft in India’s western state of Maharashtra has resulted in the deaths of five people, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the Indian media reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Baramati area of Pune district, where the aircraft went down while Pawar was on board. Reports said the plane was carrying two of his associates along with two crew members at the time of the accident.
The initial information indicated that there were no survivors. The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.
The authorities have launched an investigation and begun examining the wreckage to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
The emergency teams were also dispatched to the site to carry out recovery operations, the local media reported.
