Authorities say woman confessed to having been in direct communication with Israel-backed groups during the unrest as well as with social media networks supporting the monarchy, particularly after violent actions initiated in Gaza on October 7, 2023
TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 15th, 2026) A female leader involved in the recent unrest in Iran has confessed to making direct contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to collaborate in spreading chaos within the country, the Iranian media reported on Thursday.
During an interrogation of detainees by Chief Justice Gholam Hossein Mohseni, a woman fluent in seven languages admitted to having made contacts to assist in spreading turmoil and tension in Iran.
The authorities reported that the woman confessed to having been in direct communication with Israel-backed groups during the unrest, as well as with social media networks supporting the monarchy, particularly after the violent actions initiated in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
The arrested woman confirmed that her efforts included sending direct messages to Netanyahu.
Furthermore, two other detainees also admitted to targeting a police station in order to spread tension and incite hatred against the government. One suspect confessed to firing a shotgun at law enforcement officers and civilians from his apartment in southern Tehran.
Chief Justice Mohseni recorded the statements of the detainees, with one individual revealing that they had driven their car into police officers, while three others confessed to dropping concrete blocks on the heads of law enforcement officers and civilians.
Chief Justice Mohseni stated that all the detainees were either directly or indirectly connected to foreign intelligence agencies. He emphasized that those who incited citizens and disrupted public order during the recent riots would be held accountable through further investigation and brought to justice.
It may be mentioned here that earlier this month, peaceful protests were held by some merchants in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar against inflation, harsh sanctions and other challenges.
However, the violent protests erupted suddenly across the country on January 8, just a week later. Iran has accused Israel and the United States of being behind the violent protests and disturbances.
