THIS Muslim country has most powerful passport during 2025

DUBAI: A Muslim country's passport has been ranked as the most powerful travel document in the world for 2025. The UAE (United Arab Emirates) has maintained its position at the top for the seventh consecutive year in the list of the world’s most powerful passports, released by Arton Capital.

UAE passport holders can travel to 179 countries without the need for a visa, according to the rankings. Arton Capital's statement highlighted that, while many major passports saw a decline in their power, the UAE managed to retain its lead.

The statement further explained that the UAE's strong reputation as a stable and investment-friendly hub played a significant role in maintaining the strength of its passport. It also noted that, following the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has become more cautious, and the rapid opening of borders that was initially expected has slowed down.

After the UAE, Singapore ranked as the second most powerful passport. It moved up from 30th place last year to a joint second position, alongside Spain, with both countries allowing their citizens visa-free travel to 175 nations.

The third position was claimed by Switzerland, South Korea, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Malaysia, and Japan. Passport holders from these countries can travel visa-free to 174 countries.

Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, and Estonia shared the fourth position, with their passports allowing visa-free travel to 173 countries.

The fifth spot was jointly held by Malta, Romania, Latvia, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria, whose citizens can visit 172 countries without a visa.

Countries with the Weakest Passports

On the other end of the spectrum, Pakistan was ranked as the fourth weakest passport in the world, along with Somalia, both sharing the 91st spot. Pakistani passport holders can travel to 45 countries without a visa.

Other countries with weaker passports include Iraq (92nd), Syria (93rd), and Afghanistan (94th). In comparison, Yemen (90th), Bangladesh, North Korea and Palestine (89th) as well as Eritrea (88th), were ranked as having stronger passports than Pakistan.
