Decision follows renewed Epstein abuse claims; Andrew to leave Windsor residence
LONDON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,31, 2025) King Charles III has decided to strip his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of all royal titles and reclaim his Windsor residence following renewed allegations linked to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
According to Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew will now be officially known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The palace confirmed that the King has formally initiated the process to revoke all of Andrew’s royal roles and honorary titles.
The statement added that Prince Andrew has been directed to vacate his long-term residence within the Windsor Castle estate and will soon move to a private home.
The decision comes after a memoir by Virginia Giuffre — a key witness in the Epstein case — resurfaced sexual assault allegations against Andrew. Buckingham Palace said these actions were “considered necessary,” although Prince Andrew continues to deny all accusations.
The palace further stated, “The King and Queen’s thoughts and sympathies remain with all victims and survivors of exploitation.”
Virginia Giuffre’s family hailed the move as a “historic victory,” saying, “Today, an ordinary American girl’s courage brought a British prince to accountability.”
Prince Andrew, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s second son, had previously settled a civil lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre in 2022 by paying millions of Dollars to end the case filed in the U.S. and Australia.
