Victim says Dayal subjected her to physical and mental abuse over course of a five-year relationship
NEW DELHI: Indian fast bowler Yash Dayal, who represents Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been booked in a rape case following serious allegations made by a woman from Ghaziabad.
The Indian media reported that the woman accused Yash Dayal of sexual exploitation and lodged a formal complaint, and asked the police to register a case against the cricketer.
The woman, whose identity was reportedly revealed in some media outlets, claimed that Dayal subjected her to physical and mental abuse over the course of a five-year relationship. She further alleged that the cricketer exploited her financially under the false promise of marriage.
The Indian media reports suggested that, if the charges are proven, Dayal could face up to 10 years in prison under Indian law.
The case sparked significant attention both on social media and in cricketing circles, though no official statement has been released by Dayal or his IPL franchise as yet.
