Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved interim bail against surety bonds worth Rs 5 lac in respect of Tahir Basharat Cheema , former MD PEPCO in Karkay Rental Power case

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 07th May, 2019) Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved interim bail against surety bonds worth Rs 5 lac in respect of Tahir Basharat Cheema , former MD PEPCO in Karkay Rental Power case.The court while issuing notice to NAB on the application has sought reply from it.A division bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice IHC Athar Minallah took up Tuesday for hearing bail plea of Tahir Basharat Cheema former MD PEPCO accused in Karkay Rental Power case.

Amjid Iqbal Qureshi, counsel for Cheema told the court NAB investigation officer has summoned his client in Islamabad office. The petitioner is ready to extend all possible cooperation during the investigation but it is feared that NAB may arrest him during investigation. Therefore, bail before arrest be granted.The court accepted interim bail plea against the surety bonds in the sum of Rs 5 lac.
