No load shedding during sehar and iftar in Ramzan, claims government

The power distribution companies have been advised to provide maximum relief to the customer during the holy month

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 3rd May 2019) The Power Minister has issued a direction to Power Distribution Companies to conduct minimum load shedding during the holy month of Ramzan.

All Discos (power distributor) were directed to provide maximum relief to the people during Ramza, an official of the ministry told Pakistan Point.

The government will divert the maximum power supply towards the domestic sector to keep the supply smooth, particularly during sehar and iftar.

The Discos are currently conducting four hours average load shedding in urban and rural limits, said the official, adding the during will be reduced to half in Ramzan.

Meanwhile, the electricity demand is touching around 19,000MW while the generation is hovering around 18,000MW.

The Lahore Electricity Company is conducting two to three hours shutdown in urban areas while there is four-hour load shedding in its rural limits.

An official of the Lesco said the company made arrangements to provide full relief to the customers during the holy month. He said round the clock emergency service would be available to address the complaints of the customer.
