Supreme Court of Pakistan has accepted for hearing the National Accountability Bureau's plea challenging a Lahore High Court decision to grant bail to Shahbaz Sharif and former principal secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 18th April, 2019) Supreme Court of Pakistan has accepted for hearing the National Accountability Bureau's plea challenging a Lahore High Court decision to grant bail to Shahbaz Sharif and former principal secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.A three-member bench presided over by Justice Azmat Saeed heard the appeal, submitted by NAB counsel Naeem Bukhari.
During the course of hearing NAB Counsel Naeem Bukhari said that LHC has approved the bail plea of Shehbaz Sharif and it has given the whole verdict upon bail plea.The decision of LHC is tantamount to the decided principles of the Supreme Court related to bail.Naeem Bukhari informed the court that all merits of the case were come under discussion in this regard and now nothing remains for the trial court.LHC has given the judgment upon the merits of case from Para 9 to 13.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked, " Naeem Bukhari Sahib what is the allegation upon Shehbaz Shrif in this case?Naeem Bukhari ibnfomed that court that Ashiana Housing Scheme was the projet of low price houses.Out of 3,000 Kanal property, 2,000 Kanal property has been given to Paragon.Trial is underway in the Accountability Court and evidences are being presented in the court.The court issued notices to Shahbaz Sharif and Fawad Hassan Fawad and adjourned the hearing till second of the next month.
