MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian truce has registered six ceasefire breaches in the crisis-affected country over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Thursday.

"The Russian party of the Russia-Turkey joint commission reviewing issues related to violations of the ceasefire regime has registered six cases of truce breaches, namely five in Latakia, and one in Hama," the center said in a statement.

The center also said that no ceasefire breaches were registered in the past 24 hours by the Turkish side and no humanitarian actions were carried out by the center over this period.

Russia, Turkey and Iran have been the guarantors of the peace process in the crisis-ridden Syria for over two years since the first round of Astana talks. Russia carries out humanitarian operations across the country on a regular basis and helps Damascus in providing safe passage for the return of Syrian refugees.

According to the UN Refugee Agency, about 5.6 million Syrian refugees have fled to neighboring states and beyond, while millions more remain displaced inside Syria.
