Ex-Ukraine Defense Minister Hrytsenko Wanted for Calls for Terrorist Activity-Russia Court

The Russian Investigative Committee has declared former Ukrainian defense minister Anatoliy Hrytsenko internationally wanted and has requested Moscow's Basmanny Court to arrest him in absentia for his calls for committing terrorist activity, the press secretary of the court, Yunona Tsareva, told Sputnik on Friday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th April, 2019) The Russian Investigative Committee has declared former Ukrainian defense minister Anatoliy Hrytsenko internationally wanted and has requested Moscow's Basmanny Court to arrest him in absentia for his calls for committing terrorist activity, the press secretary of the court, Yunona Tsareva, told Sputnik on Friday.

"The court has received an application saying that Hrytsenko Anatoliy Stepanovich should be arrested in absentia. He has been declared internationally wanted," Tsareva said.

According to the database of the court, Hrytsenko is charged with two counts of calling for conducting terrorist activity.

Hrystsenko, who served as the Ukrainian defense minister from 2005 to 2007, ran in the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election, but failed to make it to the runoff, having received 6.91 percent of the vote. He is the leader of the pro-European Civil Position party.
