MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) Russian Helicopters will hold talks with potential customers from Southeast Asia regarding helicopter shipments during the upcoming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-2019) in Malaysia, the company's press service said on Monday.

This year's edition of LIMA will be held from Tuesday to Saturday on the Langkawi archipelago.

"At LIMA-2019, we plan to hold negotiations with our partners from Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. We are also actively working with our Vietnamese customers to coordinate conditions for supplying civil helicopters," the press service said in a statement.

The Russian company stressed that the civil versions of the Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters, which participated in a unique demonstration tour across Southeast Asia at the end of 2018, would become the main representatives of the company's arsenal. A new multipurpose helicopter, the Mi-38, will also be showcased.

The Ansat light twin-engine utility helicopter is designed to transform into both cargo and passenger versions with the capability of transporting up to seven people. The Mi-171A2 utility helicopter is equipped to operate in humid tropical climates for many types of missions, from patrolling and coast guard to search and rescue operations. The Mi-38 utility helicopter is intended for cargo and passenger transportation as well as search and rescue operations in various climates.
