WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) US President Donald Trump on Monday said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller acted honorably during his 22-month investigation into allegations of Trump-Russia collusion and meddling in the 2016 US presidential election."Yes, he did," Trump said when asked by a reported whether he thinks Mueller acted honorably during the investigation.
A summary of Mueller's investigation released Sunday by US Attorney General William Barr said the probe found no proof of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign during the 2016 US election.
Mueller concluded in the report there was no conclusive evidence that Trump obstructed justice in the investigation.
Trump, who repeatedly characterized the claims of collusion as being a political witch hunt, said he was totally exonerated by Mueller's report.
Trump also told reporters that "hopefully, somebody's going to be looking at the other side."
Russia has repeatedly refuted the claims of interfering in the US political system. Russian official have said the allegations had been made up to excuse the election loss of Trump's opponent as well as deflect public attention from actual instances of election fraud and corruption.
