Over 70 people were killed as two buses collided on Friday morning in western Ghana, local media reported

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) Over 70 people were killed as two buses collided on Friday morning in western Ghana, local media reported.

The accident occurred in the Kintampo North municipal district, mynewsgh.com news website specified. A bus heading to the southern city of Kumasi collided head-on on the Kintampo-Tamale highway with a bus heading to Bolgatanga, located in the country's north. While the Kumasi-bound bus went up in flames, and all of its passengers died immediately, the Bolgatanga-bound bus fell into a ditch.

Several passengers of the Bolgatanga-bound bus have survived and were taken to a local hospital.

Investigation into the incident is underway. It is speculated that one of the drivers dozed off and drove into the oncoming lane.
