ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 12th March, 2019) Federal Minister for Health Services Aamir Mehmood Kiani on Tuesday announced that the government would establish one nursing university and four big hospitals in Islamabad.The nursing university will be built at the cost of Rs10 billion. The number of lady health workers will be increased to 600 in the federal capital, he said.On the instruction of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSR&C) has recently launched first ever health strategy of Islamabad, said a press release.

The prime minister has issued the instruction that each union council of Islamabad should have at least one health facility and for this two more rural health centres (RHCs) and nine basic health units (BHUs) will be built in coming years in the rural areas of Islamabad, Aamir Mehmood Kiani said this in a meeting with the chairmen of UCs Islamabad.He said that a comprehensive Primary health care system will be developed for the district to ensure timely availability of health services at the doorstep of communities, including recruitment of 600 more LHWs for the country.The scope of services in hospitals were also being upgraded along with building of Islamabad General Hospital at Tarlai, construction of new building of Poly Clinic, expansion of National Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine, he added.
