Shafqat Mahmood responds to actor Shaan’s question about govt’s education policy

Shaan was not convinced with education minister's reply as it only highlighted issues in education and not the solution.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2019) Acclaimed Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid has been quite active on social media lately.

Besides informing about his projects, the actor appears to be taking keen interest in the national issues.

Whether it is relations with India or country’s domestic issues, Shaan is seen expressing his opinion on the social media platform.

Recently, Shaan took to Twitter, asking Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood about the government’s education policy.

“Will the education minister shafqat mehmood pls step forward and tell us the govt policy on education..... waiting 🤔” he wrote.

The Federal education minister had responded to his query saying, “We r addressing 5 challenges. Literacy which is only 58%, out of school children over 20 million, quality of education, moving towards a single national curriculum and finally training our people in skills”

Shaan was however not convinced with the reply as it only highlighted issues and not the solution. This was when Shaan categorically demanded the government to present a road map to deal with the issues in education sector.

“Sir we know this policy already as told by the PM.. but the road map to achieve that is what we needed to know . As the epidemic of illiteracy is spreading .. the vaccine to eradicate illiteracy to expensive .pls see the Canada model on education .. sir come forward .1/2”

The actor then asked if education in Pakistan can be subsidised for the benefit of the people. He also suggested to give tax holidays to private school teachers so it does not put a burden on parents to pay fee during summer vacations.

“Can Education be subsidised? For the good of the people .. ? Give tax holidays to teachers who are teaching in pvt schools so they in return shouldn’t put burden on the owners of private schools and the owners can put less pressure on the parents for the extra 4 month fees,” he wrote.

Education sure should be the top priority of government. Let’s see if Shafqat Mahmood comes up with a reply to these queries and suggestions.
