PM Imran approves Khalsa, Baisakhi festival despite Pak-India tensions

Pakistan will reportedly issue visas to 3,000 Sikh pilgrims for 10 days.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 25th February, 2019) Despite heightening tensions between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the schedule for Khalsa and Baisakhi festival 2019.

According to media reports, the prime minister has issued special directives to the Evacuee Trust Property board to make special arrangements for the festival.

Pakistan will reportedly issue visas to 3,000 Sikh pilgrims for 10 days.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board has started making preparations for free health and travel facilities for the Sikh pilgrims.

Sikh yatrees from India besides other countries of the world will arrive here on April 14 through Wagha railway station to celebrate Baisakhi festival.

Central ceremony of Khalsa Janum Din and Baisakhi will be held at Punja Sahib Hassanabad.

Every year, the Pakistan government makes foolproof security arrangements besides immigration, customs, bank and medical camp facilities at Wagha railway station to facilitate the pilgrims.

Soon after their arrival, the Sikh pilgrims leave for Punja Sahib Hassanabdal to celebrate baisakhi celebrations. They stay there for three days and perform their religious rituals.

Later, they visit Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahab, and then Sucha Souda Farooqabad where they perform their rituals.

They also visit Gurdwara Rohri Sahib Aimonabad and Kartarpur Narowal.

The Sikh pilgrims visit Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore and then return to their homeland, India.
