Across-the-board accountability: Twitterati reacts to Aleem Khan’s detention

While politicians from government and opposition circles have been giving their statements on Aleem Khan’s detention, Twitterati is also reacting to the development.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th February, 2019) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and senior Punjab minister Aleem Khan was taken into National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody on Wednesday.

The PTI leader was arrested as he had arrived in the NAB’s Lahore office for the fourth time on Wednesday. Aleem Khan was accused of possessing offshore companies and having assets beyond known sources of income.

While politicians from government and opposition circles have been giving their statements on Aleem Khan’s detention, Twitterati is also reacting to the development.

Most of them are terming it a good omen as the government minister's arrest will give an impression of across the board accountability.

Here’s what they are saying:

Aleem Khan was reportedly unable to satisfy NAB regarding his source of income for his properties in Dubai and London. The NAB asked 18 questions from the senior minister but he could only respond to three of them.

He was then taken into custody from NAB premises.

He had last appeared before NAB on August 10, 2018.

The provincial minister and one of the top lieutenants of the ruling party in Punjab, will be presented before an accountability court on Thursday, read a statement from NAB following his detention.
