Ukrainian Naval Vessels Detained by Russia Carried Weapons, Ammunition - FSB

Several 30-millimeter automatic cannons, grenade launchers, machine guns, grenades and ammunition of various calibers were kept at Ukrainian naval vessels detained by Russia on Sunday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement obtained by Sputnik on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th November, 2018) Several 30-millimeter automatic cannons, grenade launchers, machine guns, grenades and ammunition of various calibers were kept at Ukrainian naval vessels detained by Russia on Sunday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement obtained by Sputnik on Tuesday.

"The following types of weapons and ammunition were on board the detained Ukrainian naval vessels: four 30-mm cannons, four AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers, two DShK 12.7-mm heavy machine guns, four 7.62-mm PKT machine guns, thirteen 5.45-mm AK-47 assault rifles, four 9-mm PM pistols,... 765 thirty-millimeter high-explosive fragmentation shells," the FSB said.

It said the vessels also carried 1,975 VOG-17 grenade launcher rounds, 495 VOG rounds, 40 RGD-5 grenades, 48 RGD-42 grenades, 20 RGD grenades as well as other ammunition of various calibers.

Three Ukrainian naval ships on Sunday violated the Russian maritime border and dangerously maneuvered, not responding to legitimate demands to stop. The ships with 24 sailors were detained. After the incident, Russia launched criminal proceedings against the sailors for illegally crossing the state border.
