Russia Launches Probes Into Attacks on Russian Diplomatic Missions in Ukraine

The Russian Investigative Committee said Tuesday it had opened two separate investigations of recent attacks on Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th November, 2018) The Russian Investigative Committee said Tuesday it had opened two separate investigations of recent attacks on Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine.

"Two criminal cases have been opened over 'an attack on persons or institutions that enjoy international protection," committee's spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said in a statement.

According to the preliminary investigation, unidentified persons attacked the building of the Russian Embassy in Kiev on November 25-26 in order to harm relations between Ukraine and Russia. The attackers used smoke bombs and other pyrotechnic products in the attacks.

In addition, the radicals carried out a similar attack on the building of the Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv on November 26. As a result of their actions, the normal operation of the Russian diplomatic mission was disrupted, Petrenko said.
