Scientists of Russia's Yakutia May Clone Mammoth in Next 10 Years - Region's Head

Scientists of Russia's Sakha (Yakutia) region in cooperation with Japanese and South Korean colleagues may clone a mammoth in the next ten years, the region's acting head Aisen Nikolaev said Friday.

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th September, 2018) Scientists of Russia's Sakha (Yakutia) region in cooperation with Japanese and South Korean colleagues may clone a mammoth in the next ten years, the region's acting head Aisen Nikolaev said Friday.

"We are actively working with South Korea. Thanks to cooperation with Korean and Japanese scientists, in my opinion, this [cloning a mammoth] will happen in the next decade," Nikolaev said during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.

The fourth EEF was held on Russky island in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok from Tuesday to Thursday. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency was the general information partner of the forum.
