Requests the prime minister to form a judicial commission to investigate journalists

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 26th August, 2018) Renowned journalist Saleem Safi who is the fresh target of social media critique has requested the prime minister to form a commission.

Saleem Safi is being subjected to criticism and abuse on social media after he claimed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had borne the expenses of PM house during his tenure from his own pocket.

Commenting on this, Safi said we need to look into ourselves.

“I request the prime minister to form a judicial commission to conclude this debate and restore people’s faith on media. This judicial commission should investigate the assets of media houses owners and anchors. Start this with me and ask me to prove my assets,” he said.

“It should be investigated if the journalists took bribe from the government or not. The taxes paid by the journalists should also be looked into while it should also be investigated if they took money from the investors,” the journalist added.

“If I am proven guilty of taking bribe from any agency or somewhere else, hang me in front of the Parliament,” he said, adding that decisions for others should be taken according to law.

Safi further said that the PTI should remain careful that it is no more in opposition, it is in government now.
