Turkey Did Not Request Financial Assistance From Moscow - Kremlin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that he was not aware of any requests for financial assistance on behalf of the Turkish government amid the declining economic situation in the country.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that he was not aware of any requests for financial assistance on behalf of the Turkish government amid the declining economic situation in the country.

The economic situation in Turkey has seen a dramatic deterioration after Washington decided to double tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the republic earlier in August.

"No, I am not aware of such requests," Peskov said answering a reporter's question about whether the Turkish authorities had asked Moscow for financial support.

Last week, answering a question about whether Russia had enough resources to help Turkey, which is Moscow's partner in the implementation of many major projects, Peskov said that it was appropriate to make such assumptions.
