German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay an official visit to Armenia on August 24-25, during which she will meet with the country's president and prime minister, the Armenian government's press service said in a statement on Friday.
YEREVAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay an official visit to Armenia on August 24-25, during which she will meet with the country's president and prime minister, the Armenian government's press service said in a statement on Friday.
"On August 24-25, 2018, Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, will be paying an official visit to Armenia. In the framework of the visit, Armenian-German high-level talks will be held, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel," the statement read.
The press service added that the two officials would hold a joint press conference after the talks.
Merkel's visit will also include a meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, and a visit to Yerevan's Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, where the German official will pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, which claimed the lives of over 1 million Armenians during and after World War I.
