PTI chairman Imran Khan has approved Dr Arif Alvi’s name for the president of the country.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 15th August, 2018) The Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Dr Arif Alvi as presidential candidate.
According to media reports, PTI chairman Imran Khan has approved Dr Arif Alvi’s name for the president of the country.
There have earlier been reports to nominate Dr Arif Alvi as president.
Dr Arif Alvi was elected MNA from NA-247 Karachi by securing 90,907 votes.
Party leader Imran Ismail had also revealed that Dr Alvi was being considered for the position of new President of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, incumbent President Mamnoon Hussain will complete his tenure on September 8.
Earlier today, PTI's Asad Qaiser was elected as the Speaker of National Assembly by securing 176 votes.
