The Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit have concluded their search and rescue operation for a missing Marine, US Navy Captain Geral Olin, the commander of the operation, announced in a press release on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th August, 2018) The Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit have concluded their search and rescue operation for a missing Marine, US Navy Captain Geral Olin, the commander of the operation, announced in a press release on Tuesday.

�Only after exhausting every possibility through persistent and thorough search efforts, we have concluded the at-sea search and rescue effort for our Marine,� Captain Olin said.

The search lasted for five days, according to the press release.

The Marine went missing on August 9, when the ship was conducting routine operations in the Sulu Sea. The support for the search operation was provided by the US Embassy in the Philippines, US Coast Guard District 14, and Singapore Information Fusion Centre.
