Four injured in cracker attack at PPP’s camp in Larkana

The process of polling has been stopped following the attack.

Larkana (Pakistan Point News – 25th July, 2018) At least four persons were injured in a cracker blast at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) camp in Larkana on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the cracker attack took place outside Shah Muhammad Primary school in Larkana’s NA-200 area.

The process of polling has been stopped in the polling station following the attack.

Earlier, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker was shot dead in Swabi on polling day.

According to media reports, the firing took place in NA-19, Swabi between the PTI and Awami National Party (ANP) workers. At least one person was killed while four others were injured in the exchange of fire. The firing took place in Colonel Sher Khan Kila area of Swabi. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

Polling across the country is being held today for general elections 2018. Polling began at 8am in the morning and will conclude at 6pm in the evening.

The nation will elect 270 members of the National Assembly and 570 members of all the four provincial assemblies for the next five-year term today.

Around 105.95 million eligible voters – 59.22 million male and 46.73 million female – will exercise their right to vote to mark another democratic transition from one elected government to another.

About 1,1673 candidates are vying for 270 national and 570 provincial assemblies seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has established 83,307 polling stations across the country, of which 17,000 have been declared sensitive. Some 23,424 polling stations are for males and 21,707 for females, besides 40,133 combined polling stations and 43 improvised polling stations have been set up.
