Hundreds of CNICs recovered from Lahore’s Ganda Nala

It has not been revealed if the CNICs are fake or not.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2018) With just one day remaining in the general elections, hundreds of CNICs have been recovered from Lahore’s Ganda Nala.

According to details, hundreds of CNICs have been recovered from Shafiqabad area of Lahore’s NA-125.

It has not been revealed if the CNICs are fake or not. Police sources said that the CNICs have been taken in custody.

The recovery of these CNICs has raised questions over the transparency of the elections while police said that they are investigating into the matter.

The general elections are scheduled to be held tomorrow, July 25.

Polling will be held across the country on Wednesday, in which people will vote for their favourite candidates. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has made all the arrangements for holding a free and fair election.

With just one day in general elections, the political temperature in the country is at all-time high. Political parties and independent candidates concluded their election campaign as per ECP's deadline on Monday midnight. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan addressed political gatherings in different parts of the city while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz central leader Hamza Shahbaz held a rally from Mochi Gate to Data Darbar on last leg of their election campaign.

Candidates of Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal also held public gatherings, corner meetings and door-to-door campaign.

According to political analysts, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) are expected to have a strong competition in the general elections. However, PTI is stronger than the PMLN in many Constituencies due to which PTI is likely to win these elections.
