Ch Nisar to contest elections as independent candidate: Reports

Ch Nisar has submitted nomination papers from NA-59 and PP-10 and PP-12

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 11th June, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan nomination papers for one National and two Provincial Assembly seats on Sunday.

The PMLN leader submitted nomination papers from Rawalpindi’s NA-59 and PP-10 and PP-12. Nisar’s nomination papers were submitted by Sheikh Aslam and Sheikh Sajid. However, it was not revealed if he submitted the papers as independent candidate or on PMLN’s ticket.

According to media reports, Ch Nisar has decided to contest elections as independent candidate. Nisar is hopeful that he will win from these seats as independent candidate.

Earlier on Sunday, Nisar said that dramas are being staged to deny him party ticket for the upcoming general election, scheduled to be held on July 25.

"It is beyond understanding why funny dramas are being staged to make an excuse for denying him the party ticket," he said in a statement.

Nisar said he was neither a candidate for the party ticket nor was in its need, adding that he would express his views on 'all matters' openly after fully recovering from the back-pain.

"Has it ever-happened that most senior members of the party, who had been electable for several times, will have appeared before the board for party ticket interview," he questioned.
