Book has incidents of sexual coercion in Pakistani politics, some of them being related to PTI
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 7th June, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan has written a book which is likely to be published before elections. However, the yet-to-be-published book has been making a lot of chatter lately for what Reham has written inside it about ex-husband Imran Khan and his close aides.
Speaking about the book in a recent interview to an Indian tv channel, Reham said that my book has incidents of sexual coercion in Pakistani politics to get political positions and some of these are related to PTI.
Reham further said that sexual exploitation is normal in Pakistani politics. People at higher positions remain quiet despite knowing everything.
Reham said that connecting her book to political figures is an insult. She added that the publishing of book before elections seems difficult.
Reham said that this book is not the story of a husband and wife but it is my story. She said that marriages don’t work out like people think and added that she has also written the reason of my divorce in the book.
Regarding ex-husband Imran Khan, she said that he is sometimes on a liberal agenda and sometimes Islamic.
Narrating an incident during the interview, Reham said that there was once a clash between her and Imran to which, Imran came to her feet and said he is a very foolish person.
She said that when media compared her to Fatima Jinnah or Benazir Bhutto, Imran used to block those news.
The leaked manuscript of Reham’s book has sparked a debate on mainstream and social media because of the allegations made against Imran Khan and his close aides in the book. The book will possibly have some implications for the party during elections.
Meanwhile, the PTI members are also hitting back at Reham, claiming that she is working on PMLN’s agenda before elections. They have alleged her of taking money from PMLN and getting a bullet proof car from Shehbaz Sharif after her divorce with Imran.
On Monday, Reham Khan received defamation notices by ex-husband Ijaz ur Rehman, former cricketer Wasim Akram, Imran’s close aide Zulfi Bukhari, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa outgoing chief minister Parvez Khattak, PTI’s Hamza Ali Abbasi, Asad Umar, Murad Saeed, Anila Khawaja and four others for publishing ‘defamatory and malicious’ content in her upcoming autobiography.
