DC Tharparkar Inaugurates Anti-polio Campaign

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2024) The Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar at Mithi Abdul Haleem Jagirani inaugurated a week-long immunization drive for the children of Tharparkar district along with the DHO Tharparkar Dr. Lekhraj Sarangani and ADHO Dr. Bharat Kumar at civil hospital Mithi, which aims to protect children from 12 different diseases.
On this occasion, an awareness walk was also organized from Civil Hospital. Addressing the participants of the walk, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the paramount importance of children, stating that a healthy child was the foundation
of the future.
He announced that during the campaign, children from birth to 2 years old would be vaccinated against 12 different diseases.
He appealed to the people of the district to cooperate fully with the health department teams to ensure the safety of their children's future.
Additionally, ADHO Dr Bharat Kumar mentioned that besides administering vaccines to children, preventive courses for various diseases were also provided to women aged 14 to 49 at nearby government hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar also formally inaugurated the 7-day anti-polio campaign in the district starting from April 29 by administering polio drops to children at civil hospital Mithi.
He expressed satisfaction that there were no reported cases of polio denial in the district and urged everyone to collectively combat this epidemic. It may be mentioned that during this campaign, a total of 313,698 children from all seven talukas of the district will be administered polio drops.
