Islamabad United becomes first team to qualify for PSL 2018 play-offs

Islamabad United qualifies for PSL 2018 play-offs by thrashing Peshawar Zalmi in Dubai.

Dubai (Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2018) Islamabad United qualifies for PSL 2018 play-offs by thrashing Peshawar Zalmi in Dubai. Islamabad United, first champion of PSL was up against Champions of last year PSL for 21st match of PSL in Dubai on Friday. Islamabad’s captain Misbah Ul Haq opted to bat first by winning the toss. JP Diminy wreaked havoc on Peshawar’s bowler and scored marathon 73 runs inning with the help of 4 sixes and 6 fours.

Asif Ali also contributed in death overs by scoring 45 runs and helped his team set target of 183 runs for Peshawar Zalmi. Wahab Riaz was the only stand out bowler for Peshawar Zalmi as he took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. In reply, Islamabad’s bowlers did not let Peshawar’s batsmen settle at any occasion. Peshawar Zalmi fell short of 26 runs while chasing 183 runs target. SR Patel ripped through Peshawar’s batting, took 4 wickets for 34 runs, and helped his team qualify for play-offs. So far, Islamabad United is the only team to qualify for play-offs.
