Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2018) : The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday summoned a response from Farooq Sattar in Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan group's case regarding the convener of the party. During the hearing, Bahadurabad faction lawyer Farogh Naseem argued that the so-called intra-party election conducted by the Farooq Sattar-led PIB faction were declared illegal He requested the ECP that Farooq Sattar be ordered to submit copy of response today to the petitioner.

The proceedings�were adjourned after Babar Sattar, lawyer of MQM-P PIB Convener Farooq Sattar sought time from the commission�to submit his reply into the case. The ECP gave him March 1 as the deadline to submit his reply into the case. Sattar's response is to be submitted on the next hearing, scheduled on March 1. His lawyer, Babbar Sattar told the media, that two requests were filed against his client. "The ECP has given us limited time to file the response," Sattar said, adding that he will give a detailed response on the next hearing.

Speaking to the media outside the ECP, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the party's Bahadurabad faction was open to negotiations. He also invited Farooq Sattar to ome to them and take over the party leadership. "This is a discussion on a few issues between brothers," he said. "We can solve this matter both, through the ECP and directly." Siddiqui further said that the ECP's decision would be final and acceptable by all parties to the petition.

According to recent developments, the Bahadurabad group had refused the PIB faction's suggestion to dissolve the Rabita Committee. The former had, in turn, suggested the party's PIB group to constitute a parliamentary board. Talking to media after arriving for ECP hearing, MQM-P Bahadurabad Leader Amir Khan said that they are hopeful that the decision would come in their favour as they had done all things within constitutional limits. "If the decision would not come in our favour then the doors of court are also open for us," he said. Responding to a query regarding Kamran Tessori's arrival at Bahadurabad, Khan said that respecting guests is their tradition and suggestions were given to them for improvement and now the ball is in their court. Talking to media, Kamran Tessori expressed the hope that the ECP would decide on merit and they would accept the decision.
