5,27,900 bales of cotton have reached the ginning factories till July 15, 2026, while the arrival was 2,97,751 bales till the same date last year. Thus, a significant increase of 2,30,149 bales or 77.30 percent has been recorded in the arrival of cotton in the current season.
Multa (Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2026) A total of 2,01,497 bales have reached the cotton ginning factories in the province of Punjab, while 1,45,101 bales arrived in the same period last year. Thus, an increase of 56,396 bales or 38.87 percent in Punjab.
In Punjab, the highest arrivals were recorded in Vehari (41,367 bales), Dera Ghazi Khan (36,340), Khanewal (32,521), Bahawalpur (16,686), Sahiwal (16,305) and Layyah (14,993). While Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Lodhran also saw a significant increase compared to the previous year.
On the other hand, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur recorded a decrease compared to the previous year.
In Sindh, the highest arrival was in Sanghar where 2,80,393 bales reached the ginning factories, which is 1,50,356 bales (115.63 percent) more than 1,30,037 bales last year. Apart from this, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro and Nawabshah also recorded significant increases.
At present, there is an unsold stock of 82,121 bales in the ginning factories, while at the same time last year this stock was 47,771 bales, meaning that the unsold stock this year is also significantly higher.
While making a comparative review of last year and this year, he said that only 2,97,751 bales of cotton had arrived in the country till July 15 last year, while this year the same number has increased to 5,27,900 bales. The increase of 38.87 percent in Punjab and 113.82 percent in Sindh indicates that the crop of Sindh in the current season has been much better than last year. The overall increase of 77.30 percent across the country not only shows the improvement in ginning activities but is also being considered a positive development in terms of availability of raw materials for the textile industry.
