SBP reports Rs34 billion digital transactions on Eid-ul-Adha

State Bank says Rs34 billion worth of digital transactions were made under the Go Cashless campaign during Eid-ul-Adha across 123 cattle markets

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June-06,2026) The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reported that under its “Go Cashless” campaign during Eid-ul-Adha, digital transactions worth Rs34 billion were carried out across the country.

According to the SBP, a total of 480,000 digital transactions were recorded in livestock markets nationwide. The initiative was implemented in 123 cattle markets to promote cashless payments.

The central bank said mobile facilitation vans were deployed in the markets to support digital payments and QR code transactions. These mobile units were equipped with ATM and cash deposit machines to facilitate users.

The SBP further stated that compared to Rs4.6 billion last year, transactions increased sevenfold this year. In addition, 12,500 new bank accounts were opened, reflecting growing public confidence in digital banking.
