KARACHI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-April 17th, 2026) Peshawar Zalmi, champions of the 2017 Pakistan Super League (PSL), have officially secured a place in the playoffs of PSL 11.
The qualification was confirmed after Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by six wickets at the National Bank Stadium on Friday, ensuring Zalmi remain out of reach of teams outside the top four in the remaining league matches.
Zalmi currently lead the eight-team standings with 13 points from seven matches.
Their campaign began with a five-wicket win over debutants Rawalpindi, while their second match against Islamabad United was washed out due to rain.
The side then recorded a strong winning streak, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators to consolidate their position at the top of the table.
Despite their confirmed qualification, the battle for the remaining playoff spots remains open, with all other teams still in contention.
Islamabad United are placed second with nine points from seven matches, while Multan Sultans sit third with eight points from six games.
Zalmi are scheduled to face Quetta Gladiators next, followed by matches against Karachi Kings on April 22 and Lahore Qalandars on April 25.
