HBL PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi beat Rawalpindi by 5 wickets

Zalmi chased down target in final over, losing five wickets along the way

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-March 28th, 2026) Peshawar Zalmi defeated Rawalpindi by 5 wickets in the third match of the Pakistan Super League Season 11, successfully chasing a target of 215 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Batting first after winning the toss, Rawalpindi posted 214 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks largely to a solid 125-run opening partnership between Yasir Khan, who scored 83, and captain Mohammad Rizwan, who made 41 runs. Kamran Ghulam contributed 37, while Daryl Mitchell scored 23. Sam Billings remained unbeaten on 18, and Abdullah Fazal added 5 runs not out.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Ali Raza took two wickets, while Aaron Hardie and Aamer Jamal claimed one wicket each.

In response, Zalmi chased down the target in the final over, losing five wickets along the way. Mohammad Haris top-scored with 47 runs, while captain Babar Azam contributed 39 runs. Kusal Mendis made 31, Abdul Samad scored 33, and Aaron Hardie added 8 runs.

Michael Bracewell and Aamer Jamal remained unbeaten with 35 and 17 runs respectively to guide their team to a memorable victory.

For Rawalpindi, Imad Butt took two wickets, while Rashid Hussain, Asif Afridi and Mohammad Amir claimed one wicket each.
