PTI political committee calls for immediate facilitation of meetings between Imran Khan, his family and his lawyers, and urged his prompt transfer to Shifa International Hospital
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-March 4th, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will participate in the government-called meeting only if its demand for a meeting with party founder Imran Khan is accepted.
The PTI Political Committee said that the party said it will not attend the meeting until arrangements are made for a meeting with Imran Khan. Participation will be considered only after this demand is met.
The statement emphasized PTI’s insistence on the supremacy of the judiciary and the protection of all constitutional rights of Imran Khan. It also called for immediate facilitation of meetings between Imran Khan, his family, and his lawyers, and urged his prompt transfer to Shifa International Hospital. The party stressed that his medical treatment should be ensured in the presence of his personal doctors and family members.
The committee expressed concern over the tense situation with Afghanistan and condemned Israeli and US actions against Iran, describing them as aggressive and unlawful. PTI warned that military actions against Iran could escalate global instability and urged Iran and Gulf states to exercise extreme restraint. The party also called on the US and Israel to immediately halt provocative actions.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to brief opposition and political leaders on the current situation. According to sources, leaders of both houses, opposition parliamentary leaders, and other political figures have been invited to Prime Minister House tomorrow. The briefing will focus on Pakistan’s foreign policy and its response to recent developments in the middle East, including attacks on Iran.
