PALLEKELE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Feb 24th, 2026) Captain Harry Brook struck a magnificent century to lead England cricket team to a nail-biting two-wicket victory over Pakistan cricket team in the fifth Super Eight match, booking a place in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
Chasing a competitive target of 165, England reached 165 for eight in the final over of the match. Brook anchored the innings with a superb 100-run knock, steering his side home under pressure. Will Jacks contributed 28 runs, while Sam Curran added 16 and Jacob Bethell scored 8. Jos Buttler (2), Tom Banton (2), Phil Salt (0) and Jamie Overton (0) were dismissed cheaply.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Usman Tariq and Mohammad Nawaz claimed two wickets each.
