The arrests were made during a targeted raid at the suspect’s residence in Peshawar.
The investigators recovered the identity card of the suicide bomber from the attack site, confirming his name as Yasir. His permanent address is listed as Abbas Colony, Sherjungi, Charsadda Road, Peshawar, while his current residence was noted as Ganj Mohalla, Qazian, Peshawar.
Police officials revealed that Yasir had spent five months in Afghanistan, where he reportedly received training in weapons handling and suicide attacks. The authorities are now conducting raids in Peshawar and Nowshera to identify and apprehend other members of his network and potential facilitators.
Investigation teams are focusing on tracing the bomber’s contacts, associates, and the logistics that enabled the attack. Officials indicated that additional key evidence is expected to surface, which will provide further clarity on the planning and execution of the Islamabad attack.
