Speedo, Metro, Orange Line, and electric buses in Lahore have been decorated for Basant, with free travel offered from Feb 6–8 as pleasant weather is also expected.
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Jan,31, 2026) Public transport in Lahore has been decorated in vibrant cultural colors as preparations for the Basant festival reach their peak.
Speedo and green electric buses have been specially adorned to reflect the festive spirit. Authorities have also finalized arrangements to provide free travel facilities during the three days of Basant celebrations from February 6 to 8.
Punjab’s Transport Minister stated that commuters will be able to travel free of cost on Metro Bus, Orange Line Train, Speedo buses, and electric buses during the festival.
Conditional permission has been granted to bring kite-flying equipment into Lahore district from outside Punjab. However, authorities have announced a zero-tolerance policy against the use of metallic strings and banned chemicals.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast pleasant weather throughout the three days of Basant, with partly cloudy skies and favorable winds, allowing residents of Lahore to fully enjoy the spring festival.
