LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 17th, 2026) The photos and videos of the mehndi ceremony of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s son, Junaid Safdar, have gone viral on social media.

The event was held at Jati Umra and attended by the families of the bride and groom along with other guests.
Junaid Safdar wore a traditional deep navy blue kurta adorned with golden buttons and a simple cut, giving a royal appearance.

He paired it with a golden-brown shawl draped over the shoulder in a traditional style.
The silky texture and color combination of the shawl complemented the vibrant mehndi decorations, highlighting a classic wedding palette.

The ceremony brought together close relatives and extended family members of the Sharif family, including PML-N President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s grandchildren, and the family of the bride, Shanze Ali Roohail.
Renowned dancer Wahab Shah performed at the mehndi, and around 350 guests were hosted.

The Sharif family arranged a lavish spread of traditional Pakistani cuisine, including soup, chicken dumpora, dal gosht, aloo gosht, white rice, barbecue, carrot halwa, and dal halwa.
Junaid Safdar’s baraat is scheduled to take place on January 17 at 1:00 pm at Lake City, where 400 guests, including family and relatives, will be hosted.
The walima ceremony will be held on January 18 at Jati Umra Farms, with 800 guests invited.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal and provincial ministers, key political leaders and foreign dignitaries will also attend the walima.
The mehndi and upcoming wedding events have attracted widespread attention on the social media due to the lavish arrangements, traditional celebrations and the attendance of prominent political figures and family members.
