Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Ali Musa Gillani and Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani are also among those who have been suspended
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 16th, 2026) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the memberships of 32 Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) for failing to submit details of their assets, in accordance with the constitutional requirements.
The suspended MNAs include prominent figures such as Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Syed Ali Musa Gillani and Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani.
In addition to the suspension of 32 MNAs, the ECP has also suspended the memberships of 50 members from the Punjab Assembly and 33 members from the Sindh Assembly for the same reason.
Among the suspended members from the Punjab Assembly are Rana Sikandar Hayat, Adnan Dogar, and Aamir Hayat Hiraj.
From the Sindh Assembly, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani is also included in the list of suspended members.
The Election Commission’s action reflects its commitment to enforcing accountability and transparency, ensuring that all elected representatives comply with asset disclosure regulations.
The suspension will remain in effect until the concerned members submit their asset details as required by law.
