ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 16th, 2026) Justice (retd) Mansoor Ali Shah, a former judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, has officially announced his return to legal practice.
In a statement issued yesterday, Justice Shah revealed that his professional focus would now be on international and domestic arbitration, mediation, and providing strategic legal consulting.
In addition to his legal career, Justice Shah expressed his intention to continue his engagement with academia. He confirmed that he would also be taking on teaching responsibilities in international legal matters, maintaining his strong connection with the education sector.
Justice Shah further clarified that his resignation from the Supreme Court was a principled decision. He also mentioned that, at present, he is serving as a “Distinguished Professor of Practice” at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His return to the legal field follows his decision to step down from the judiciary, which he described as being in line with his values and aspirations for the future.
