Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik is leading Pakistani delegation at Future Minerals Forum 2026, being held in Saudi capital Riyadh
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 13rd, 2026) Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the minerals and mining sectors.
The understanding to this effect was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Minister for Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef in Riyadh.
Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik is leading Pakistani delegation at Future Minerals Forum 2026, being held in Saudi capital Riyadh.
Ali Pervaiz Malik said the Tethyan Belt, of which Reko Diq is a small part, has immense mineral potential and the Geological Survey of Pakistan is working on cooperation with the Saudi Geological Survey to tap this potential.
He said the fertilizer production and medical equipment manufacturing sectors are also important opportunities for joint ventures between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi Minister for Industry and Mineral Resources said there are vast opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the mineral sector.
He said Saudi Arabia will support the development of Pakistan’s mineral sector through its scientific and technical expertise.
The Saudi Minister also expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for participating in the Future Minerals Forum.
Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki was also present in the meeting.
In his remarks, while praising the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, he said Pakistan’s presence in the forum will further strengthen the long-standing Saudi-Pakistan relations.
Pakistan’s participation at Future Minerals Forum 2026 is being organized by Pakistan Petroleum Limited in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division.
Under the theme “Mineral Marvel-Unleashing Pakistan’s Mineral Revolution”, the Pakistan Pavilion showcases the country’s rich geology, flagship mining projects, and investment opportunities.
During his visit to the Pakistani Pavilion, Saudi Minister for Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef commended the Pakistani team’s efforts, particularly the Pavilion’s distinctive design and strong visual impact.
