A SHC constitutional bench passes order while hearing a petition filed by Rabia Basri seeking recovery of Shah Waliullah and Abdul Latif
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 6th, 2026) The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the recovery of missing citizens.
A SHC constitutional bench passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Rabia Basri seeking the recovery of Shah Waliullah and Abdul Latif.
The counsel for the petitioner argued that the missing individuals were allegedly taken into custody from their homes by the police officials and later held at Sachal Police Station.
Despite inquiries, the counsel said that the police claimed they had no information about the whereabouts of the individuals. Written responses submitted by both sides were recorded as part of the court proceedings.
The court directed the petitioner to approach the relevant police station to file an FIR and formally ordered that the FIR be registered to facilitate the search for the missing citizens.
The petition named the Inspector General of Sindh Police, DIG West Karachi, CTD Civil Lines, SHO Sachal, and other officials as respondents.
